Boiling point
In Almaty oblast, in the south-east of Kazakhstan, for the second time in several months, major unrest occurred. The Kazakhstani authorities call the events “hooliganism”, trying to get ahead of those who are ready to assume that these clashes are nothing but an interethnic conflict.

PR-Borat?
"Here is the Kazakh president." This is the title of an article published by the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan as an advertisement in one of the most authoritative American newspapers. At what time it cost the budget - is unknown. Certainly expensive. The purpose of the publication is clear - the country needs a PR, a positive image.

Friendship with gas
Indeed, it is very interesting to observe all the peripetia that are happening today in Turkmenistan and resemble more of a farce than meaningful public life. The new government is trying to sit down more comfortably in its place, sharing at the same time the most bread places, but at the same time not forgetting about international politics or about what it represents in this capacity.

Bricked Markets
The fate of a large army of labor migrants from China has become the subject of political bargaining and dispute in Kyrgyzstan. The fact is that, following Russia, the government of Kyrgyzstan adopted a decree according to which, from April 1, 2007, a strict quota should be introduced for foreign workers engaged in wholesale and retail trading activities in Kyrgyzstan.

Death Penalty: Pros and Cons
On August 1, 2003, on the initiative of President Emomali Rakhmonov, the law “On introducing amendments and additions to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan” was adopted, according to which the number of articles imposing the death penalty was reduced to 5 articles with the following crimes: murder, rape, terrorism , genocide and biocide.

Term as penalty
Since 1999, Turkmenistan has imposed a moratorium on the death penalty. At the same time, the phrase “The death penalty in Turkmenistan was completely abolished and permanently banned by the first President of Turkmenistan, the Great Saparmurat Turkmenbashi” was added to the constitution. Even for his personal enemies, Turkmenbashi made no exception.
